As NBA teams prepare to start playing again, COVID-19 is forcing new ways of doing business. What can seniors housing and care learn from their efforts?
NIC CEO Brian Jurutka was joined by Minnesota Timberwolves VP of Basketball Performance and Technology, Robby Sikka, and Testing for America’s Sri Kosaraju, for a discussion on protecting staff and team members, and the latest developments in COVID-19 testing.
Sri Kosaraju has been a Governing Council Member of Testing for America, a nonprofit established by leading academics, scientists and business leaders to address the COVID-19 testing crisis. He served as President of Penumbra (NYSE: PEN), a global healthcare company focused on innovative therapies, until May 2020 when he stepped down to focus his efforts on Testing for America. Mr. Kosaraju joined Penumbra in 2015, serving as CFO and Head of Strategy until his promotion to President in 2019. Prior to joining Penumbra, he had over 16 years of experience in investment banking at JPMorgan where he held a variety of positions, most recently Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets, Head of Healthcare Equity Capital Markets and co-Head of Technology, Media, Telecom Equity Capital Markets.
Mr. Kosaraju serves on the Board of Directors of 10xGenomics (Nasdaq: TXG).
He received a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Dr. Robby Sikka is in his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves as Vice President of Basketball Performance and Technology.
Dr. Sikka oversees the integration of medicine, technology, nutrition, player development, analytics, and strength and conditioning with the goal of improving basketball performance and player wellness. His innovative methods seek to help players improve performance, reduce injury risk, and optimize return to play strategies.
In addition to his Timberwolves duties, Dr. Sikka is the founder and CEO of Sports Medicine Analytics Research Team (SMART), an organization that has assisted numerous NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL clubs with injury data, return to play planning, and player evaluation and development.
As NIC’s president, Brian Jurutka oversees overall strategy, volunteer leadership governance, and is accountable for organizational performance, culture, and mission delivery.Prior to joining NIC, Mr. Jurutka served as Senior Vice President, Telecom, and GM for comScore’s wireless operator analytics division. A former nuclear submarine officer, Mr. Jurutka brings more than two decades of leadership experience with a successful track record in analytics, business development, operational management, and data system development and integration. Prior to comScore, he was with Capital One’s Direct Banking organization where he launched and managed the company’s first deposit product partnership in addition to overseeing various strategic partnerships.Mr. Jurutka holds an M.B.A from Brenau University and a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy in aerospace engineering.
